About Dr. Demirdover

Prof. Dr. Cenk DEMİRDÖVER was born in Turgutlu, Manisa, in 1970. He completed his primary education at Turgutlu Cumhuriyet Primary School between 1977 and 1981, followed by the intermediate section of İzmir Tevfik Fikret High School from 1981 to 1985, and graduated from İzmir Atatürk High School between 1985 and 1988. He then graduated from Essex Junction High School in the United States between 1988 and 1989. After graduating from Ege University Faculty of Medicine in 1995, he completed his specialty training at Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery, becoming a Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgeon in 2003. From 2003 to 2007, he worked at the Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery Clinic at İzmir Atatürk Training and Research Hospital. Dr. Demirdöver began working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery at Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Medicine in 2007. In 2008, he worked at the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery at Helsinki University Faculty of Medicine in Finland. After many years as a faculty member at the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery at Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Medicine, he retired in 2023. He currently works at his private practice.

Prof. Dr. Cenk DEMİRDÖVER was awarded the title of Fellow of the European Board of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (EBOPRAS) in 2004. After being appointed as the Turkish delegate to EBOPRAS in 2011, he was elected to the EBOPRAS Board of Directors in 2016. In 2017, he was elected as the Chair of the EBOPRAS Specialty Affairs Committee; in 2018, as the Chair of the EBOPRAS Accreditation Committee; and in 2021, as the Vice President of EBOPRAS. He served as the President of EBOPRAS from 2022 to 2024. After being elected to the Executive Committee of the European Society of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (ESPRAS) in 2018, he assumed the role of ESPRAS Secretary General in 2024.

After serving as the Internet and e-Journal Officer on the Board of Directors of the Turkish Society of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (TSPRAS) from 2014 to 2016 and from 2016 to 2018, he served as the Vice President of the TSPRAS Executive Committee from 2021 to 2022 and served as President of TSPRAS from 2022 to 2024.

Dr. Demirdöver served as co-Editor of the Turkish Journal of Plastic Surgery from 2008 to 2015 and has been Editor-in-Chief of the same journal since 2015. Additionally, he serves as Assistant Editor of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and as a member of the Editorial Board of the European Journal of Plastic Surgery and the Journal of Wound Care.

Prof. Dr. Cenk Demirdöver has over 100 scientific publications, 5 book translations, 9 book chapters, and numerous papers and invited lectures, over 200 of which have been presented at international conferences and symposiums.

Prof. Dr. Cenk Demirdöver, who is fluent in English and French, is married to Dermatologist Dr. Burcu Demirdöver and is the father of a daughter.
